About this deal
In the end all the children are “caught” and team up to play a came of tug of war. Designed for National Curriculum Key Stage 1 it provides an opportunity for children to respond imaginatively to the many opportunities for making up new verses. Each of our records is first meticulously cleaned, then not just inspected once, but twice, before a sample is play-tested to make sure it sounds as good as it looks. The book was prepared by a primary music specialist who was the author of Christmas Tinder Box. Suitable for non-music readers and non-specialists this is a collection of 37 all-time favourite songs for young children with new words.

I have enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in Early Years childcare myself, and ordered this book as a gift for my daughter, who is just starting her teaching career in Primary education. This is a really valuable resource for anyone working with children, or for parents who would like to build up their own song bank for their children.

The songs in this collection are all simple, set to traditional tunes such as "This old Man" and "The animals went in two by two". It’s a nice book featuring many of the commonly sang songs with pre schoolers. It combines musical instruments, fine motor skills with the accompanying hand actions to these songs and encourages vocal and instrumental performances.

Accompanying each song are simple notes and ideas on enhancing the delivery of the song, so that children really get the most out of the activity. Encourages the use of imagination and musical instruments. The old favourites are here along with some newer rhymes that can be sung in well know tunes. This came in paperback format with no ring binding as it suggests hence my reason for a star less.
