The way Father Arthur keeps his calm demeanour is just brilliant. Their unlikely friendship is heartwarming, and like a hug in a book. A book so bloody beautiful that I have to have a little breather before picking up another. Omg this was so lovely and soul destroying and heart breaking and also one of those books I would happily read again.

I believed in the characters and loved reading through the book and learning about them and how they got to be where they were and a little about why they were the people they had become. I joined one of my reading buddies @sams. When 17 year old Lenni meets 83 year old Margot they strike up an unexpected friendship, despite coming from completely different generations.

The questions raised, the feelings and emotions that the story dredges up, you can't help but fall for all the characters (including New Nurse and Father Arthur) This book has so much heart, a wonderful story dealing with hard topics in a very sensitive way ❤ They decide that they will paint a picture for each year they have been alive; one hundred pictures. oops!

The last time she saw her husband. Just a beautiful story of life and humanity I think. But Lenni had her own tale to tell, even as short as it was. Even though I cried big whopping tears, I truly think this is one of my favourite books ever.
