Into a Goddess struggling with warring emotions of loving her newly acquired freedoms and learning about who she is becoming whilst it feels like a betrayal to her mother. So as I start reading GGQ I instantly loved the writing style, loved how author made book not only storytelling but action and with deeper meanings that some of them I can relate myself. You aren't married, I want to scream. She becomes the Goddess of Flowers.

As I said this is a slow burn and it fitted the story so well. I thought it was great. There is minimum spice in this book.

With strong points made about rape culture, women acting a certain way to attract men or the ‘right’ type of men and discussions about masculine toxicity. Ive read a few Greek Mythology before but this hands down is the best. Some of my favourite early quotes that show just how big and bright Persephone’s personality is include ‘My head is attached to my hair, Mother. I’m so glad I bought it as I liked this story a lot.

Who, having been forced for so long to act a certain way, rebels when she is given the freedom and love to be truly herself. While reading I pictured everything. This just flipped the script on the usual Hades/Persephone retellings. I wish I could meet this version of Persephone and befriend her because she is one sassy BAMF.

From there the story shows her development in all ways to believing in herself and demanding what she wants when she wants it. So I was really excited to hear about “Girl, Goddess, Queen” and it was a great book.
