! It was Ewan’s book I found the more intriguing as he paints a picture of a house haunted by malevolent spirits with a history that’s steeped in tragedy. It’s tense, eerie and unsettling, but is it real? I was checking windows and doors throughout reading this.

Home Before Dark is the story of one woman’s pursuit of the truth behind her family’s sudden decision to leave a home with a superstitious history, and what exactly happened to have her family forbid her to return. All loops closed and what a creepy haunting story. When I found out, it was quite the reason!

It was the build up and the journey in that house that really shone for me. Maggie returns to see the house and sell it after her father’s death.

Home before Dark by Riley SagerI give this book 4 starsMaggie Holt returns to the house made famous by her father’s bestselling horror memoir. Sager's manner of writing is getting better and better. That wasn’t the main shock or twist though as by the end, my head was deliciously frazzled. Or a work of fiction?
