I have owned an old-style Maxtor hard drive for about a decade and it still works, which is reassuring. Photo 2 shows you the drive and the cable to connect it your computer. Overall good product.

But was packaged well. The relevance is that I trust the Maxtor brand so I expect that this new one will be as reliable. It doesn't matter when you registered on site, from the date of import it ll be 3yr 3mnths (Date of import on boxJun 2016). The reason why they are so musch smaller and lighter is because the new ones are designed to fit inside laptops whereas the old external hard drives were designed to fit inside desktops.
