The profit from your purchases helps fund the conservation, collection and care of the Bodleian Libraries’ archive of over 12 million printed items and outstanding special collections. The original was sold at the book launch at The Chris Beetles Gallery, London. This Art Print is A3 in size. Royalties from this project went to The Woodland Trust. Produced on 300gsm textured paper at one of the oldest printers in the UK, this officially licensed Art Print is limited to only 995 worldwide, hand numbered and supplied with a certificate of authenticity. Painted in 1989, this image, featuring Treebeard from JRR Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings with the hobbits Merry and Pippin in Fangorn Forest, was Matthews' contribution to the book The Tree.

Flipping through this book, I think she'll love it. Contains many interesting and previously unknown and obscure details about Tolkien and his works and about his lesser known side as an illustrator.
