It uses a 1DIN chassis for installation but the screen “hovers” in front of the vehicle’s dash, allowing the oversize screen to be added to a variety of vehicles without the need for custom installation. ) Great head unit with so much functionality.

I'll give it some more time, because I'd really like to move away from a dedicated GPS, but Alphabet sure is making it very difficult. The Alpine head unit is impressive, and everything seems to work well (apart from the integration software), but I haven't yet connected all of the features, e. The flexibility of the screen allows for install in pretty much any vehicle, and expecislly good if you’ve only got a single Din slot and want a usable screen. I've still got my Garmin Zumo plugged in, and it is so much easier to use that for navigation than AA with Waze or Google Maps.

, reverse camera, so I don't yet have a full impression. Can’t vouch for Android Auto (not used it) but CarPlay works flawlessly. g. The microphone can be plugged into this, as well as the phone, but the microphone would probably be better wired in through the back.

It's got a nice big screen and works well, but I'm having a hard time loving Android Auto.
