I love this brilliant, funny new series. Perfect for reading alone or sharing together, for fans of The Bolds and Toto the Ninja Cat. Montgomery lets kids go on a mountaineering adventure where they may encounter the mysterious Yeti, or Abominable Snowman! Top animal athletes are disappearing, and there are whispers of a silent snow beast on the prowl. Can a group of ten year old mates (and one scruffy dog) really outwit the most fiendish, cunning adults in the universe and save a frightened friend from the worst fate imaginable? Who knows? Standard UK £2. Will Weasel be able to compete for a golden fir cone without falling over his own feet? This is the second in the rib-ticklingly funny Agent Weasel series, with glorious illustrations throughout. 75

p. s. i did learn alot from this epic about climbing and Germany,The first world war and altitudes.
so the three decided to climb mount everest 'secretly' and be the first three to reach the summit, set in 1924 were the climbing equipment & gear is far far from our advanced & modern ones. The Abominable by dans simmons, wow where to start on such a twister of storytelling & what a way to start 2022.
gonna give my 5 cents on this book because it does receive alot of hate, but i thought it was fantastic so here is my sort of review. The Deacon hears off the failed expedition of goerge mallory and Andrew irvine.
3 main characters,The Deacon a British, Jean-Claude a Frenchie and our only pov character Jacob William perry a American. epic of a tale. There is no Abominable snowman.
it is fiction but is has a great dash of historical facts attached to it andhalfway through it it shows that nothing is has it seems. but I will end with this,it goes from United Kingdom, Wales, Paris, Germany (The Deacon character has to be careful with that bit) and Tibet and from there to mount everest. it is only when you reach page 300 of this 728 page tale that they start the climb.
