Out of interest I saw exactly the same thing in a local garden centre at twice the price. Its not being filled with water yet due to the dry weather but it does collect grey water from my shower and sink anyway and that works fine. I did have a bit of trouble getting the base to stay in place as I assembled it but no great hassle. ) till the hole was big enough to get the connector through.

Hi, just to let you all know, I personally thought the base for the water bottle wasn’t as sturdy as I would like so I’ve put a few rivets in at the bottom where the joints were made a massive difference to firming it up. The base comes in four sections but they all slot together and once the butt is on them it is fine. Other reviews have pointed out that the 4-piece stand isn't ideal - you do need to have an absolutely flat surface underneath for it to sit properly. ) drill bit to make the hole at the top for the pipe to connect - who has one of those?

Overall I am pleased with it. Luckily the connecting unit covers the slightly uneven lines! The media could not be loaded. If you are putting it on soil then a paving slab underneath might be required.

It did the job, but the cut wasn't as straight/even as I'd have liked. I was in two minds about ordering this after reading some of the reviews.

You are also supposed to use a 26mm (? Delivery was quick. Hope this helps The tap went on easily enough (I put a bit of PTFE tape round the thread just to be on the safe side) and it sits neatly by my downpipe in the corner, near my hose connection.

The base does need to be on level ground though or it just wont work. I opted to simply run the pipe into mine as the drain underneath was a blocked drain away anyway. Now I just need to wait for it to rain :) I used the largest bit I had, then basically hacked around with the drill and a penknife (!
