Drawbacks would definitely be that it’s not easy to get into if you do need to fix something or clean the tank, however it has stayed pretty clean so far. I tried taping a sponge to the spout to slow down the flow but the top filled up too quickly and would have overflowed because the water wasn’t passing through the sponge fast enough.

I did need to purchase a heater and lights separately which made the initial setup a little difficult. All in all though I do love it and my cat it is pretty entertained, and aside from the filter my fish seems pretty happy also- she has been swimming with smooth easy movements, eating as soon as I feed her and resting on the natural plants. She does seem to be getting used to it and avoiding the flow for the most part but not all of the time.

I also decided to grow cat grass on the top which my cat loves, and he can’t get inside the tank thanks to the lid. The cat grass also grew to the highest height in the pictures in less than two weeks. I absolutely love the look of this tank. The other con is that my betta seems to struggle with the current and will get thrown around if she gets too close to it while the water is flowing from the top spout.

I bought a betta fish and a few real plants for the inside. I have been cutting it when my cat wants to have some as the roots do pull up easily if he’s chewing it directly from the tank.
