The world of spirits is infinite, fascinating, entertaining, distracting and a giver of great pleasure. The 15 year old Glenfarclas has a complex, sherried nose layered with hints of butterscotch and dried fruits. This brilliant old 1980s Glenfarclas 15-year-old demonstrates the simple brilliance of those long-held principles. With a subtle butterscotch aroma and a perfect balance of sweetness and peaty tones, every sip is a delightful experience. From the arid plantations on the edge of the Mexican desert, through the rugged glens of the Scottish Highlands, to the undulating vineyards of Cognac in Southwest France, successive generations have been distilling the fermented liquor of agave, barley, grape, cane sugar and other fruits, plants and grains. Organic Wines Learn More. A wonderful old 1980s bottle of Glenfarclas 15-year-old, meaning that this would have been distilled no later than the early to mid 1970s.

There is an interesting raisin cakey-ness to this too, with some herbiness in there as well. Mouth coating and sweet, with some cinnamon tingliness. This is special.
There is some dry nuttiness that develops quickly unlocking a little subtle spicey and extremely light smokey sensation. The complexity is lovely. The Glenfarclas 15 is a hell of a whiskey. Nose - sherry, lots of sherry, sweet creamy and rich.
Just invites another sip, this is spectacular. Wow.
Finish - though it's long, it is super light. The taste hits with loads of sherry with a sweet citrus note too.
Taste - unbelievably light texture - less butter, more olive oil.
