It's polite, and less disorienting. Each side is marked with L and R. In 2019 I really expect a good $200 pair of headphones to be USB-C. -The ear cups fold inwards to make them more compact for storage and transport.

This is my second set of these! The open mic feature does what it's designed to do despite the tech snobs complaints.
