) I placed the fountain in the utility room where we have a stone floor. It is worth meantioning at this point that the pump is only guaranteed for 12 months despite the overall product having a 3 year guarantee! The plastic has become scratched a fair bit around the edges; where our cats like to play with the water edge; unless made from metal this was bound to happen.

Low noise, attractive but with three cats needs topping up daily. The pump has a twist dial to adjust the flow of water. I turned it ever so slightly and it fired into action!

This was successful until we took on a little stray cat. After 4 weeks the carbon no longer works and can hold onto the bacteria.

Okay, what can I tell you that might be of importance to you . replacement may be required more often if two or more cats are using the cat mate.

In fact there is more noise from the very slight trickle from the water. . After about 2 hours, both cats were drinking from their new fountain, ignoring their old bowl. The pump is still going.

* Instructions state that water should be replaced weekly to avoid limescale build-up. * Is it really quiet? Needless to say, all good again now.
