I'm using this cable with an adapter that converts Thunderbolt to DisplayPort (female), and I was able to project without problems. It's a little long on the VGA end for some reason but it works for me. Not sure if it's the cable or something else. It hooked up good, I redid my wire management as well to fit the cords in there.

The adapter is still operating properly, so I won't give it 5 stars, even though it's a quality product. Yes everything as required and the delivery speed was excellent, I used it to connect the second monitor to my Mac Pro. All you need to do is to have the VGA goes to the monitor in the back and and the other end goes to the display port on your computer. Arrived as an open item.
