I can only say that Kentaro Myura was the guy! ! it is also within these chapters that we learn that Guts is more than just a big brute swinging a giant sword, he is a man with complexity.

The first encounter with the Falcon Band, which will change Guts's life, allowing him to experience true friendships, true love, and the feeling of having a family, things he never experienced during his childhood other than suffering and always trying to seek the approval of his cruel “stepfather” Gambino. RIP Kentaro Miura. This is just the absolute best.

Rickert, who's boyish enthusiasm is infectious. Corkus, ever antagonistic towards Guts, a constant reminder that raw power will not sway every mind in the Hawks. The search of dreams, the want of being apart of something profound.

As with the first Deluxe Volume I reviewed, this is the definitive way to experience Berserk. Gloss just would not work.

(although there will be a 4 month gap until the next Omnibus)The very first chapter in this Omnibus collection starts us off on a harrowing note, Berserk pulls no punches. The book is of high quality and feels good in the hand.

This manga the size of an Omnibus with three volumes is expensive, but it's very worth having in your collection. We also meet the unforgettable cast of the Band of the Hawk. The binding is fantastic and we no longer get loss of page from the paperbacks.
