I wouldn't be surprised if this change in construction also has something to do with the more recent reviews complaining of melting . The unit can be rotated in the socket, These proved to be ideal, see photos attached. Means I don’t need to turn on the main light and looks good.

Perfect solution for my hallway which has nowhere for a lamp to go but the hallways main light is too bright to have on all the time. I urge all owners of the 'bad batch' to contact the manufacturer as they have replaced my units free of charge. Just what my kitchen needed.

Great idea! I have six sconces in use around my home so I can highly recommend them. The problem stems from updating the materials to cater for halogen bulbs (even though this is only mean't for LED bulbs) and prevent melting - these improved materials ended up being more translucent (as my picture shows). Being able to remotely change colour and set them all to the same colour is a massive bonus.

Pop in one of their ambiance gu10's and you have a very good value uplighter with no annoying wires cluttering the floor. Great service, wish all manufacturers were this reactive to customer opinion.
