Given that many films that have implanted computer effects have for the most part aged quite poorly. Trust me when I say, you won't regret this purchase. Whether it be certain changes from the original novel or be it character changes or omit-missions (no Tom Bombadil I'm afraid) or certain events either trimmed down or taken out altogether, or being internal flaws with the movie's script itself.

These are also better than the hobbit films. Blu ray set has Digital copies of Extended versions of all three movies. Words cannot convey the amount of time, effort and attention to detail Jackson and his film crew put into the look of Middle-earth and it's realms and kingdoms.

Extended versions of the movies have humongous amount of extra film footage added to the theatrical editions (approx. Viggo Mortensen perfectly carries the struggles and journey of a man born from the wilds of Middle-earth to the destined king of the world of Men. I resent the studios for making me sit through the theatrical version, and for making me hate it. Blu ray set has THREE EXTRA DVDs (Behind the Scene for each movie) apart from the 2 extra feature DVDs.

I think it was safe to say this was a massive risk and undertaking, not just adapting a story that has been beloved for some many decades, but also the fact that when it came to fantasy movies, they were often seen as box office poison. Thanks.
