The legs of the chair now match the legs on the sofa and saved me from a potentially expensive mistake! However as it is solid wood, it can be refinished, the problem was going to be colour matching which can work out pretty expensive having to buy even the smallest pots in most outlets. These 35mm wooden magnetic playing pieces were originally all the same plywood colour so I just used their magnets with a metal support to dip each one into the stain; allowed it to drain and used an old cloth to dab off the excess from the edges. Worked wonderfully!

Once dry, I applied a coat of wax to buff it up to a slight sheen to match the rest of the units and I'm really happy with the result as I really don't want to have to buy a new kitchen, they just aren't the same quality anymore unless you pay out ridiculous sums of money. A little goes a long way. The only negative is that it tends to mask the grain rather than enhancing it, more like a paint than a stain. This set was perfect and clean and easy to use

I made a mistake when ordering a new chair - I ordered the wrong colour legs and they didn’t match our existing sofa! The table now matches the rest of my furniture, the Teak colour is great! Very easy to use, and the final result definitely worth the effort. It dries to a matt finish so I just used another cloth to rub down the surface to bring out the grain.

Overall very happy :) Dark Oak is just dark chocolate (think 70% Cocoa) but the final effect does depend on the underlying texture, colour and chosen application. But two coats provided ample coverage. Does the job well, and comes up true to colour.
