On metal they work great, these are for small areas, you will need aarger head or different tool if you want to do a large area or you'll have a very uneven surface. They still work but not nearly as well.

They are made from very hard steel and are fantastically sharp. It's high speed and shaped for control. Always wear safety glasses when using them. The pack has a nice selection of shapes which, should cover most of your general DIY or small workshop needs.

Well made sturdy bits good budget value. Which for anyone who has used these types of things knows means razor sharp flechettes flying everywhere usually to be eventually embedded into your fingers at some point. I didn't have the same problem cleaning off a bit of scrap metal to test on.

If you use these with a drill then they are less effective as the speeds are slower. I used these in a Makita die grinder which is perfect for these. Secondly, putting aside the above, these are very good rotary burrs. First off, I've dropped a star because I can't see the retail price and as ever any review needs to be based against the cost.

I would say for MDF they were more useful to round off the edges once cut with a jigsaw or to shape the edges. Overall a decent set of tool bits. Useful to have around for smoothing off edges or cleaning up metal work.

I tried it first on MDF board to shape a hole for some speaker wiring and it took some time but worked successfully. Safety eye wear is essential when using these. I've knocked it down a star because I found that the grooves are quite shallow so to keep the cutting speed up I needed to brush out the wood dust from the grooves.
