Reviews

What better sounding board than a bushy-tailed buddy? I know this review is Meh, but it doesn’t need to be convoluted & wordy for you to understand that I loved The Satsuma Complex.

Gillian Middleton

Made me laugh so much, thanks Bob 😊 I loved the humour, the harsh realities and the pacy plot as well as the portrayal of Gary, Emily, Grace and all the other characters, bad and badder. Alternative herbal tea, DIY health food bars and lower back pain remedies. Therefore the more Bob you get between its covers is a good thing.

Blooming Brilliant! 🐿️Honestly one of the funniest and beautifully bizarre books I’ve read and can’t wait for Bob to release more. A bit bonkers, slightly surreal and laugh-out-loud funny, it is interwoven with threads of darkness, poignancy and extreme violence. What follows is a well-constructed murder mystery with twists a-plenty, great character development, sad back stories and many hysterical moments.

Bob Mortimer has a very distinctive character which comes over in all of his work. Loving it. This book is no exception, with so much of his character oozing out of every page.

Dani

Read this whilst on holiday drinking campachoo chooBob has taken this to the next level kicking it into a different stratosphere. ) and listens to his guffawing, garrulous work colleague for the last time.

Geraldine Croft

I have always been a huge fan of Bob Mortimer and the idea of him writing a book and then having it in Audio was a no brainier to buy. If you are a fan of Bob Mortimer you’ll love it, if you are not, what is wrong with you?

Michail Harm

Disenchanted with his day job and disinclined to give his Peckham flat any sense of permanency, Gary’s high points are Saturday pie with Grace next door and Battenberg with banter at Wayne’s coffee shop until the fateful evening he agrees to meet Brendan at his local for a pint where he is drawn to a pretty, dark-haired girl he names Satsuma (after the book she’s reading – it could happen to you! Yes? Once you have adapted to reading his unmistakable character, you settle down to following the story and what a good tale he spins. Loved this book it's written in a typical Bob style.
