Madison and Garrett are one of my favourite book couples. Meet me Halfway by Lilian T James 5/5⭐Madison & her 8 year old son Jamie recently made the move to a new place. the mouth on Garrett was worth the wait.
Madison is such a strong FMC & I loved Jamie & how protective he is of his mama. They form their own little unit & watching it happen made me feel all the feels. Getting her all wrong, Garrett makes assumptions and thinks Madison is something she's not.
The things Madison does/goes through to give Jamie a good life is so f'ing commendable. 10/10 recommend this for the slow burn, single parent & age gap lovers! It's from her grumpy & judgy neighbor Garrett. .
Garrett & Madison reluctantly become friends & Garrett forms a special relationship with both Madison & Jamie. One night while studying Madison hears someone at her door, she checks it out & sees a rude note that someone left.
Garrett & Madison's relationship goes from dislike to friends to lovers & it's the slowest of slow burns. Both Jamie & Madison have a lot to overcome and move on from. Madison is a single parent who just a few years ago was in a super abusive relationship & hasn't been with anyone since. Working 3 jobs & with the help from her parents & best friend is the only way she makes it happen but she does.
This was such a great slow burn. It takes time to earn both Jamie & Madison's trust & love but Garrett never once questions walking away from them.
