The premise for this book although dark isn’t overwhelmingly so. It centres on Hadley, a young girl who is faced with a proposition to go 27 days back in time to save her classmate Archer from committing suicide. Archer I also loved, I liked how as he got to know Hadley, he softened a little around her.

I rooted for them both from the beginning and as the stakes starting rising, I felt my nerves do the same. His emotions were all over the place for most of the novel which was understandable considering everything he was going through, it made him real and human. The chapters counting down the days Archer had left I thought was a brilliant touch and reminded me as I read what had already happened in the past could very well still be his future.

Hadley is such a relatable character and I really connected with her from the first chapter. A great read ❤ Read it on Wattpad years ago and have read it almost every year since.

You never truly know what another person is thinking or feeling even if they might seem rude or abrasive as Archer showcases many times throughout the story. If you are looking for an interesting read with relatable characters and a supernatural element, then you won’t be disappointed with In 27 Days.

I think the way Alison has crafted a story centring on such sensitive and important issue’s as suicide and mental health in a very carefully considerate way is refreshing. Archer’s family were exactly what I would imagine an Italian family to be like, I understood from Hadley’s background why she liked them so much and wanted to be a part of such a large, loud, and loving family.

In 27 Day’s is the debut novel from author Alison Gervais. Although she has never really spoken to Archer before she finds herself upset at his sudden death and agrees to try and help him.

When I got to the last page, I was sad that the book was ending I wasn’t quite ready to leave the world of Archer and Hadley - I’ve actually already read this book twice! Overall it was an enjoyable read that made me really question the importance of including and talking to everyone. When I saw it got published I had to buy to support the amazing author. I love this book!
