I loved the story. A few moments i found sad too, but they didn't last long enough before i was giggling again 😂 I was close to reaching for the tissues one minute and grinning like an idiot the next 😁The plot literally had everything. The main characters all live in a luxurious residential village for older citizens, a community that is secluded but not remote from its neighbourhood or from the realities of life. I would call these books crime fiction with an edge – the edge being a cosy wry slant on older life.

The Man Who Died Twice also brings us more information about the characters’ previous lives before retirement, especially Elizabeth but I wouldn’t describe her as truly retired! Richard Osman has invented a canvas that enables him to create a series of books (two so far, at least one more on the way) that have already become firm favourites with the explosive numbers that count as his readership. They’ve moved on quickly – in both books, crime occurs under their noses and the Club Members become involved in the discovery and solving of events as they develop. Can't wait until the next.

When people close to the events and in cost contact with her colleague start turning up dead, Elizabeth enlists the help of her friends Ron, Ibrahim and Joyce to decipher the numerous and rather elaborate clues her colleague has left for her to solve the crimes. I absolutely adore the characters in this series, and they did not disappoint the second time round. On top of the espionage and diamond smuggling, one of their own will suffer badly at the hands of local lowlifes and bringing their attacker to justice will become just as important as solving their newest murder case. None

He explains that his life is in danger, that an international crime broker says he stole diamonds from him that belong to the New York Mafia. They have expanded their little clique to include our extended favourites 😍 and when one of their own is hurt…well. Shame the book turned up bent.

it came in great condition and it’s very interesting to read! This one is twisty, turning, shocking, fast paced and so much fun 🤩 Everyone is dying left right and centre, there are some extreme criminals in this one and everyone is kept on their toes.

Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron have formed The Thursday Murder Club, meeting in the jigsaw room, where they are able to study cold cases as an interests. Feel like I really got to know Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim and Ron even better in this book. If you have not yet read either of Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club novels, I hope you'll read my review and make haste to a copy of both titles.
