I definitely would recommend this and seems like Kreg makes a lot of very useful items for doing woodworking DIY. There is no way to drill through your piece if you set the collar correctly.

This is a great tool, saved me so much time and mistake free mounting of hidden hinges… love it! Once all those settings were known, I was able to knock out and drill all cabinet doors in about an hour or so. .

5mm from the center so we rounded it to 21mm which is the lowest offset at 3. If you put too much side force on the bit, you may cause the bit guide to melt which will change the precision of future holes.

The settings are fairly simple to use as long as you know the hinge dimensions from the manufacturer. Since I wanted to build a cabinet for the workshop and manufacture it with soft-close pot hinges, the jig had to come from Kreg. Within a few minutes, the hinges were attached and the doors were installed. So, when using the jig with a cordless drill instead of a drill press, just make sure that you're holding it perfectly perpendicular to your project piece.
