The blade change is super easy and really secure and accurate. The box comes with 5 saw blades that can be used or replaced in no time with the quick-release buckle. Well it's much better than I ever expected.

Carefree, ready for use quickly with full power and precision, it is particularly important to me that I manage what other machines can do with annoying cables (cable extension) in use. Worked very well. The underside of the machine is equipped with a removable plastic protective shoe so as not to damage fragile surfaces.

However, as soon as I clipped in the battery I noticed that something wasn't quite right - it didn't clip in with the usual reassuring solid sounding 'clunk' and the battery is a little loose too. Have found I can even put 1 x 1/2 timber in my workbench and slice off 3-4mm long slices to create long packing pieces, all by eye as the blade follows the path accurately. My first time using cordless jigsaw previously had a black n dekker corded.

Not wanting to replace all of the previous boards (just those which are cracked), I can say this is a capable tool- I was able to match the wandering lines of the neighbouring original boarding easily. The best thing is the trigger control,this gives you alot more accurate cuts. ☝🏻 Don't forget to register your purchased devices on the Makita page for a three-year warranty from Makita (two years for lithium-ion batteries) as soon as possible.

On further inspection I saw that it lacked the two rubber dampers that other Makita products have (some have 3)I have read that vibration can kill these intelligent LXT Batteries (their MultiTools have additional damping for this very reason)I've since found out that the next model up (DJV182) has these 2 rubber dampers so is it a cost saving exercise? I looked at cheaper options, but I am so glad I opted for this.

So far I have used it to cut hardboard to put over floorboards prior to carpeting and I can say it works fantasticly. I've been using a Makita laminate blade for precision cuts, but even the timber blade that came with the jigsaw produces way smoother cuts than either of my previous mains jigsaws could ever hope to produce, no matter how careful I was and what ever blade was in it. Firstly the mechanism is so super smooth, built with real accuracy, the blade don't move a fraction of a millimeter from it's path, the control is precise and there is plenty of power despite not being main powered. Apart from that this is superb, and for some reason gives me cleaner cuts than the Bosch.
