Worst bits: new price, needs expert setting up and a few (cheap) parts replacing to make it usable, lower handlebar clamp needs tightening daily or it creaks, top gear quite low so even gentle downhills are coasting only, bar stem quite flexible even when very tight. 4 stars for the bike itself, 1 star for moorelarge or whatever their name is. I removed the mud guards and rack to make it the bike I was looking for, I really love this bike.

Overall it’s a very likeable and useful bit of kit if bought cheaply and set up well. As per other reviews I read, once sorted it’s actually a decent bike but it does arrive poorly assembled and with some parts eg left crank/pedal arm of very poor quality which break instantly. However, this is an Aldi brand bike( crivit from Aldi) and the seller rebranded it to Orus.

Originally thought it would be a good bike, but started falling apart from first day. I’d buy mine again at the right price as it’s decent now and actually quite endearing! I find it better for longer runs than our other Raleigh folder and compared to the Brompton which is mega money but way way better engineered and folds smaller, the Orus/Crivit is softer to ride, better suited to broken surfaces and has lower gearing for uphill.

Best bits: rides really well when properly sorted and copes well with a heavy 5’11 rider, manages gravel tracks, towpaths and hills due to wider tyres, strong frame, strong wheels and a decent low gear range, outstanding brakes, fitted lights are excellent, excellent mudguards, reflective tyres, folds easily and quite small. Bars adjust easily. On my way home had to get offEdit: the overall build quality is decent and after i replaced the crankset and pedals with aftermarket ones it turned out to be a great bike. These are Crivit bikes with 5 Orus stickers covering the original Crivit branding (I peeled mine off) and were sold by Aldi originally for £300 then £150.

I changed the saddle because it was rock hard, although I've made changes this bike is the best that I've found in this price range and I really enjoy riding it. I use it for commuting to work, easy to fold for the train journey.

When i contacted them about the faulty crankset on the bike they hung up and basicallly blacklisted my number. Once properly rebuilt and expertly adjusted with proper grease and lubricants, the hinges set up properly, brakes and gears set up properly, the seat post clamp white nylon bush replaced with a copper washer, some poor bolts and fittings swapped out, the chocolate-soft left crank arm replaced, useless pump ditched and then ridden for 50 miles then re-adjusted and serviced, it is a really decent folder, lower geared than a Brompton but way better for climbing or canal paths due to wider tyres. Useful rack and stand. As they are mostly bought by non-experts, they are often disliked as they are shonky, flexible and don’t work properly from the off and are as such often resold cheaply on eBay or Facebook with a few miles on; mine was £60 new unused on FB.

Left pedal fell off, the crank thread was all messed up after a one day commute to work.
