Chase's writing style is so skilful and spellbinding that it's hard not to be in your own little bubble when you read this story. I thought she captured the remoteness of the house in the woods, the hazy summer and the strange locals so well. The Glass House has all of this in spades, zig-zagging between the early 1970s and the current day. Where Sylvie fits in would give too much away too soon but I was in awe of how the author pushed me down certain paths in the story with such subtlety.

* This ending is so satisfying - all loose ends are tied up seamlessly. But then a baby girl is found on a tree stump in the woods by their house.
