Another wonderful book from Mike Gayle! I totally love the whole idea of this museum and what it stands for and think there should be one in every town!

Indeed, the discovery of backstories plays a big part in this novel! The Museum of Ordinary People by Mike GayleI give this book 4. l found this a moving but heart warming read about life, love, loss, memories, secrets and most importantly people. l didn’t want to put this one down but l didn’t want it to end either.

If a real Museum of Ordinary People existed I would love to visit it. ). This is a museum of people's belongings, ones that once meant so much but have now been rescued from the scrap heap, the skip or the dump. The epilogue was perfect and I did shed a little tear or two at the end (sentimental - I did say!

Since then, I’ve eagerly awaited the publication of his next book! In search of a home for them, she discovers the museum, and the mysterious Alex. I was completely enthralled by the items and the stories behind them. Jess lives with her boyfriend in London in a small, minimalist flat and is unable to keep her set of encyclopaedias, (old and battered and given to her by her mother), which originally, she couldn’t part with.

A novel which shows that loss of a loved one can sometimes make us re-evaluate our own lives and, if we’re brave enough, change paths. From thereon in the story revolves around the Museum of Ordinary People.

Perhaps there was nobody to pass them onto, or the owner simply no longer had the space for them, but either way they are memories, pieces of the past, and Jess is there to save them. The characters were as well written as ever and the story was great. Jess has just lost her beloved mother and when she's clearing out her house she realises that some items are hugely important to her for sentimental reasons. 5 starsMike Gayle is an amazing storyteller, and lm always excited to delve into a new book by him.
