To Love and Be Loved is the new, must-read, emotional drama by the amazing Amanda Prowse. I really enjoyed all the different types of characters that were in the book and how there was much more going on under the surface. I felt so much for the main character Merrin. I love all of Amanda's books, and she is an author, I auto-buy.

This isn't my first Prowse book, I had bought a few after reading some in 2017 but this has been my first in a while. Then her world is turned upside down.

I really liked Merrin and I really felt for her on her wedding day and how awful it must have been for her, the pain and humiliation she must have felt. This was such a heartwarming and emotional story.

But once it got going I was glad I persisted as I really enjoyed it. I forgot how she weaves a story and pulls you into the pages, invested in the characters, love or hate you want to know more about them and what dramas unfolding next. She comes from a hard-working family and her fiance, Digby, is from a wealthy, privileged one. I fully understand that they were needed because they set the scene so well but personally, I just don't like the longer chapters.

Aw Mirren I so felt for her, when reading this book I thought a perfect song for her and her predicament is absolutely Paloma Faith Only Love Can Hurt Like This. Merrin is a small town girl from a working class family, when she falls for Digby Mortimer, old money but the attraction and love is mutual. I had heard of Amanda Prowse before but I hadn't read anything by her. This story follows Merrin’s journey as she discovers what it truly means to love and be loved.
