I always thought why would you need an electric screwdriver? Decided to buy the new one (ixo 7th generation) but honestly the first generation it's feel better in my hand. It only becomes an issue if you attach any of the accessories to the front, I regularly use the offset adapter and the variable torque setting adapter, both of which completely obscure the light, not a deal breaker by any means but could of been avoided as it was on the older model being mounted slightly below the edge of the adapter. All of the new devices already have USB type C port, but that's ok, the tool isn't 2023 model.

With the previous one the switch was just above the trigger and on a few occasions I found when I applied pressure in certain angles my fingers/thumb would inadvertently knock the switch out of position. Then my neighbour lends me his electric screwdriver and I immediately feel like getting one for myself. I bought the first IXO in 2006 and I still like it. Your fingers will thank you.

The only thing it really needs is the ability to adjust the torque, as there's a danger of damaging screw heads. Another revised feature is the new micro USB charging port located at the base of the hand grip, it achieves a more positive connection than the old charging cradle which would sometimes slip off its small charging spring clips, also being micro USB it's much easier to find a cable to charge it since it's a very common charging method and easily replaced if damaged/lost. Holds up for half a days use doing flat packs and is easily charged using micro USB. Micro USB - a bit old fashion.

I got this as the plan was to put together some wardrobes, me wife changed her mind and instead we got some skirting boards. Purchased this mainly for my wife to use, but also myself.

I bought it to use with the cleaning brushes. This new version has all the functionality of the previous version with a few improvements as you would expect. The unit took sometime to fully charge initially (3+ hours!

I note the packaging includes a 'genuine Bosch' label and suspect some are receiving knock-offs especially when people talk of receiving their Bosch Screwdriver loose packed in a plastic bag! What can be better: The front plastic cover blocking the light and because of the shorter bit holder it's already scratched.

My unit arrived in a white custom made case, I have added pictures to help identify a genuine screwdriver, also the driver itself weighs 328g and is held together with T7 screws, I doubt a knock-off would be the same. This is not a do everything screwdriver. As with most electronic items with non-replaceable internal batteries, it has been holding a little bit less charge than when it was new as expected, but still lasts long enough and with enough power to be useful so I wasn't necessarily looking to replace it as such. Once fully charged, you could leave it in its case for a couple of months and come back and it still works.
