I learned about it while working at various cafes, but I finally decided to buy my own container of it. ! Put 2 heaping tablespoons in my coffee pot, filled it with hot water, left it for 15 minutes, then rinsed it very thoroughly.

One warning: I don't know if this product takes paint off of glass, so you might want to test it on something first. I've scrubbed over and over and could not remove the stains.

As a test, I used this on the mug I used through college and it's like new again and I can put it back into rotation. I didn't know it at first, but apparently these cool mugs can get coffee stains pretty easily. If you own reusable steel mugs, this is a requirement. I didn't actually use boiling water either, but just as hot as possible from the tap.

Now this cleaner is part of my normal cleaning cycle. I had a mug with years' worth of tea stains - 30 minutes of soaking, a quick scrub and it was good as new. As far as I understand it you're not supposed to run this stuff *through* a basic espresso machine like mine, so I use a separate descaler for that Cleancaf Cleaner for Home Coffee and Espresso Equipment, 3 Pack (0. Upon rinsing them out, the mugs will look like new.
