I absolutely loved this book. Two women Anna and Hope have children together at the same hospital at the same time as the old millennium turns to the new.

5* from me. WARNING - This book causes leaky eye syndrome 😢 and I highly advise not having a mouthful of tea when you get to “the full cactus” bit - I nearly ruined my book 🤦🏻‍♀️I love Dawn French and just about everything she does and I stand in solidarity with her on the whole #jamfirst debacle 😂 Her novels are exquisite and if you haven’t read anything of hers yet I’d highly recommend any and all of them. Fast forward 18 years and as the story unwinds your heart will swell and break with equal measure. Great book couldn't recommend a better book myself x

It’s a gripping read and it will keep you amused until the very end. The story goes through every emotion. A book that will stay with me 📙 📖 📚 The characters are colourful, ethnically diverse and interesting to read about, and the attitudes of both mothers is somewhat atypical of what you would expect from a very difficult and heart-rending experience.

At the turn of the millennium two women give birth on the same ward but only one leaves with a baby. This, in a way, adds to the reader interest and helps us to empathise with both parties involved. Minnie is a typical teenager ,I just wanted to give Hope and Anna a hug, and julius was a complete Dick.

X Unfortunately Hope has a still birth whereas Anna has a daughter named Florence. I would definitely recommend it to others.
