Well, as you can see from the pictures, the screws don't even SHOW at the attachment point on the vehicle! As an example I had one large dog crate and one medium dog crate in my cargo basket and was easily able to get those in and out.

Perhaps the company modified them and put out a different version. I am 5’1” and bought a rooftop box for my vehicle.

For what it is, it’s slightly overpriced but definitely will get a lot of use out of it and it should last forever. My units appears to be the latest version with most of the major design issues fixes.
