There's a reason for electricians being collectively being called 'The Prince of Darkness. My daughter is currently doing her degree in Electrical Engineering and is constantly tinkering with circuit boards. for car audio system or fixing a broken wire in car or campervan) you could save yourself a lot of hassle and this would be very useful indeed. I gave this to my son who is is an electrician - a sole trader - and he regularly uses a soldering iron when installing LED strips because he prefers to solder the connections rather than use pushfit plugs which can become loose or corroded.

I like this a lot, I’ve used a lot of soldering irons and have swapped between mains powered ones and portable gas. It’s perfect for craft uses etc, even taking it out and about with you.

It’s a great way to solder without being tied down and I’ve used this in the house as well as it’s just easier to use. It uses the Makia 18v battery platform.

I also really like the soldering iron holder on the side of the unit. Works very well on battery and power adapter (Not Included) and heats very quickly. The digital LCD display is clear to read, and adjust. The tip is replaceable, the tip it comes with seems to be a 4C which is useful for some small jobs.

The backlit LED is clear with temperature and voltage shown. This is my perfect solution to soldering in the motors now, it’s much easier than running the extension cable and quick to stick on the roof to get out of the way. As you'd expect the Tip is replaceable , the Tip it comes with looks to be a 4C which is useful for some small jobs but not really for tiny precision soldering but at least you can swap it out. It will be great for wiring/soldering jobs on car electrics.
