Beautifully written and very informative, this is a well researched and presented look at the Anglo-Saxon year It explores the festival's, customs and traditions linked to the different seasons.
It's a must read for those interested in an imaginative connection to the Anglo-Saxon world. This book is a beautifully observed journey through the cycle of the year in Anglo-Saxon England. Many of the festival's we celebrate in Britain today have their roots in the Anglo-Saxon period and this book traces their surprising history as well as unearthing traditions now long forgotten.
