When I first got it I put enough coffee grounals in to make it flush with top of filter. Bravo! ! I like large portion of strong coffee so the size is perfect to serve 2 people (Although it could otherwise serve 6).

The negative reviews where the seal is gone or the outside is tarnished with blasting heat is purely because of not waiting for the coffee to be made slowly. Couple of tips, if you use filtered water use water that’s been sat in your kettle rather than straight out of the fridge, at room temp the water won’t take so long to heat up. And it hardly takes up any space in busy kitchen cupboards. However I found out this was too strong.

The pot is sturdy and heavy duty. Given the cost it makes a much better cup of coffee than a cafetière, the only downside is cleaning it out which is a minor inconvenience. I bought it around 2 month ago when i was looking for a espresso coffee maker. Been on the Nespresso bandwagon for the last 11 years, and ever increasing capsule costs, and a lack of decent high end coffee machines have forced me to consider trying something else just to see whether the premium they charge is justified for the convenience.
