The 2nd is the adapter, my new adapter I got from a plumbing store ($4) and the handle to the deep sink faucet which I used to show the plumbing store guy what kind of thread I needed to hook up to. I was able to find a garden hose adapter at the hardware store for a couple bucks and it works great.

I kept mine from my old python which fitted the new one really well. I have a mixer tap as you can see in the picture, so if you have one like this you will need to get extra attachments - these are the black parts you can see in the picture. No disturbance of my planted strata except when I want to. This worked flawlessly.

I use my aquariums thermometer to match temperature for the refill. The Python has made water changing simpler, easier and more frequent. I have attached photos of the part by Sioux Chief if anyone could find it helpful.

I’m in my 50’s and just can’t deal with the heavy buckets anymore and it has made me absolutely dread doing cleanings, I’ve even wanted to just dismantle my tank and be done with it. First brought it from a pet shop over 20 years ago and was so glad when I was able to replace it.

Easiest water change over ever done. Did my research and got me the 50’ Python. Cleaning the tank was a dream as normal, painless. I’m considering adding a 75 gal addition to my the living room now.

So that issue solved, I did my first water change tonight and it was AWESOME! Gravel vac using the pressure of the tap is great. I've been a little apprehensive about purchasing it because of the steep price. I was on the fence about getting this due to the price but I am SO glad I finally did!
