This book speaks about how that is bad and doesn't deal with your worries. This book has been perfect as it shows that lots of children get worries and that the worries are not real or at least not as bad as they seem. It uses a 'bag' which gets bigger with each worry being added to finally the bag being thrown away once the worries are dealt with.

So. An educational psychologist recommended it for my son who has anxiety.

I can't wait to use this with my 8 yr old. . I would highly recommend this to anyone with anxious children and I think the best age group it would work for would be 6 to 8 year olds. I bought this book for my 6 grandchildren.

It considers how children over think about who they are able to talk to; parents - who are busy, won't understand or have their own struggles. I have an 8 year old son who has just started worrying constantly about various things including nuclear bombs, burglars, the sun ending, the world ending and it was getting more and more difficult to reassure him and calm him down especially at bed time. I dont want my grandchildren to even think about their weight and i was concerned these couple of pages might start new worries. Not imposed worries by the author.
I love this book. Beautifully illustrated, the story is about a bag of worries that follows the child everywhere and nothing seems to get rid of this bag which is getting bigger until she opens up and talks about her worries. I found the second and third page too targeted on particular worries.
i have glued these pages together and now have a fabulous generic book about worries relevant to the child reading it. What a fab book. He asked lots of questions and he related to the little girl in the book. It allowed me to have that conversation with my son and he could see that talking about it was helping him as it did the girl in this book.
