my neighbours don't have to listen to me banging one out as a wannabe pianist anymore. They are not lacking bass at all, just not bass heavy but with a little EQ they produce good bass. I have tested them with an Astro Mix Amp and a Creative AE-5 sound card and the AKG sound great with either.

These are definitely worth the asking price of £40. Without a doubt. But are they the best reference headphones you could buy at such a price? They have a really good looking design, very light weight and have excellent sound.

Major oversight however, is that if you're using them on a phone with protective case it won't connect properly since the jack is too short. I’m totally blown away by them. I needed headphones that won't hurt my ears while I work at my desk but also needed something to keep the hair off my face so I don't have to keep looking for hairbands.

I had to take them off to check where the sound was coming from as the piano sounded exactly the same as before . The self adjusting headband is perfect for quick mounting.

They are not noise cancelling (not advertised to be either) but they are closed and effective in filtering out ambient office noise. I’ve been looking for some headphones for a while specifically for vinyl listening. Attached a photo of the headphones and with one with them on to give an idea what they look like.
