Lindsay Galvin's 'Darwin's Dragons' is the exciting adventure of Charles Darwin's young assistant Syms Covington + (spoiler alert) dragons in the Galapagos. Based on true history: Syms Covington was Darwin's real life assistant, and virtually every named character in the book is a real person, right down to the crew of the Beagle.

A perfect mix of history and fantasy! The combination really works, I'm so surprised at how realistically the author is able to include dragons in the factual story of Darwin. I especially loved the short chapters and can't wait to share it with pupils in school.

And the illustrations are just glorious. Brand new fiction for confident readers (+ dragon loving adults).
