This book helped me to make curry that tasted like it came from a curry house. It includes an authentic recipes section as well as a dedicated British Indian Restaurant (BIR) section. But the food is great so forgiven him for that. Had amazing dinners which I now have to cook for the family to have at their house too when I cook or they get upset at missing out

Also like the fact it’s about the food not the chef. I've bought this book 3 times The recipes are also insightful historically - the author provides commentary on the origin & meaning of the recipe. I struggle to comprehend how much work went into this book.

If you need a book on curries and buy no other, make sure it's this one. That’s the test of any cookbook. It's absolutely packed cover-to-cover with amazing recipes. There’s no pretension of some aspirational lifestyle nor self indulgent photos of the author.
