In the package, in addition to the adapter, there is a cable to be able to use old headsets with a 2. In the box is the headset adapter. I give it 4 stars as it does exactly the job it should for me. 5mm lead supplied with it, so plus points for that.

It's interesting to find out that the controllers can be easily updated via the Xbox One. 5 mm jack.

The advantage of this one is to be able to manage your volume, either to switch the whole sound to group chat to talk to your friends or to switch everything into the game or to have half the group and the other half of the group games. 5mm adapter lead is needed for the Turtlebeach X11 headset if you are using an original audio lead that came with your headset.

However it is tedious to have to purchase this after buying some sparkling new; perhaps expensive headphones. In my case, it came in handy to be able to reuse Creative Recon3d Omega Wireless, since without this adapter I would lose the chat function. I opted to wait for this official headset adapter instead of trying out the 3rd party version that have appeared on auction sites.

As these have a standard 3. This adaptor is sadly something you need not want. I have had no problems yet with party chat or game sound when using the controller on it's batteries (I have rechargeable Orb batteries), HOWEVER when I plugged in my controller with a USB lead (for charging), I started to get a buzzing noise, which could be heard by the other party members as well. The instruction provided could have been made a bit clearer insofar that they are printed on a small piece of paper in very small writing.
For delivery it was very fast. Simply because of the convenience of being able to raise and lower the volume of the chat and/or game or mute the microphone if necessary without having to go to the Xbox menu, this adapter is indispensable. I recommend for those who don't want to buy everything and keep their headphones. Speech and game volume can be controller from the adapter as well as your inline volume thumbwheels.
Update: I now have a pair of Triton Headphones, styled for Titanfall. Overall, this product functions as stated, however the price is far more than it should be. It does its job as an adaptor for 3. Then plug the USB lead into the USB port on the side of the Xbox One and the micros USB end of the lead needs to go into the front of your battery-less controller.
