That being said Richard gives his satirical spin on its theme, characters, aviation in general and why it never really saw the light of day! Unfortunately, it was due for release just as the atrocities of 9/11 occurred so immediately the studios withdrew as you can probably imagine it would not have been appropriate to release a romantic comedy that was revolved around flight, airlines, and flight attendant recruitment. A must-read first for fans of this English comedian (here I am! Even the index at the back is stupidly hilarious.

I love the sidetracks/ anecdotes of his life; they really ‘top’ the book (ironic). The way in which Ayoade analyses ‘View from the top’ is so unapologetically him, I love it! Hilarious 10/10 👀

I highly recommend it- At 240 pages I read it one night so if you're looking for a quick humorous read then this is your go-to! Highly recommended - it is the funniest book I've ever read, and all Ayoade admirers should read it. As someone that has seen the movie many moons ago I enjoyed it to be fair, it was an escape from reality for 90mins. 😄

It is very amusing and has Ayoade's familiar dry humour and sharp as a tack persona! When you think Ayoade has reached the peak of its originality, here's how this man amazes you by writing an entire book about one of the most unlikely films in comedy history. This is all I ask of a book. Ayoade, with his knowledge (not to be forgotten that, among the various things, he directed two films and wrote two other books talking about cinema), brings to light, with the complicity of his particular vein comic, all those details that make this film one of the greatest facepalm of the 2003 movie releases (but, let it be clear, it's in good company both in previous and later years).
