Coping with anxiety (create a worry jar) and self care both things that are taught in school nowadays but I am glad they are included. There is a focus towards the end of the book (so after you’ve learned about yourself) to find *your* happy, this looks at hobbies and creativity in the mind, with a suggestion to try new things and if at first you don’t feel very successful… practice! The book is well made and the illustrations and designs are imaginative and easy to read.

Thank you for reading my review, I hope it helped. Despite this there are plenty of silly jokes, the use of art although not paramount is encouraged.

This is a paperback book by Ant & Dec in aid of the NSPCC that focuses on teaching children how to be “Propa Happy”. Thank you Ant & Dec, Katie Abey, the child psychology expert and NSPCC. Full of activities, fun ideas and helpful information to help children find their Propa Happy. Feeling good about yourself is about focusing on the positive things you have done or experienced and you can celebrate these with the positivity challenge, writing down what makes you proud so that you can look back on this when maybe you are feeling a little negative.

Wish this book was around when I was still a child. The book leaves you with your “My Props Happy Charter” a promise to be the best version of yourself, where you can write down what promises you make to yourself to make you happy. It tells how they love to laugh and make each other laugh and to be kind to each other, it also says that none of us feel like laughing or smiling all the time and what to do at those times. They are funny (as you’d expect) but surprisingly show a vulnerable side to accepting yourself and finding what makes you happy.

There’s a lot to learn, a good read for both parents and children. Finally what are your dreams, setting goals, recognising feelings and mood boosters. There is a strong focus on learning everything that you do and feel is unique, one of the ways this is portrayed throughout the book is reading what makes everyone else happy and seeing they’re all different things and that there is no right or wrong to what makes you happy. Great for helping to maintain good mental health.

Ant and Dec talk about their love for Newcastle which I can relate to being from there myself! There are suggestions on how to approach these for children to understand which are mature in their approach and helpful. It’s very much like Ant and Dec are talking directly to you throughout the whole book. Love Love Love it!

It encourages making new friends and using humour as a way to break the ice. Recognising where you come from, your culture, sense of belonging and friends. Would recommend.
