Picked up a USB/NVMe adapter and ran a speed test (see picture with slower speed) - the adapter recommends USB 3. ) I realized that the stock 256GB SSD was over three quarters full after simply installing all my software so i decided to purchase a second SSD with the max supported capacity per drive of my M17 R3 SSD ports of 2Tb max. Preferred this over the 980 Pro, as it's much better value, although my motherboard supports Gen4, I personally felt I did not need the higher data transfer rate. 2 slot that supports pcie 3.

I did a lot of research and i decided to buy the Samsung EVO 970 plus with its stated 3,500MB/s read and 3,300 MB/s write. It idles around 45-52c and when gaming, it's between 55-65c without a heatsink on it. Installed this into my USB-C hub.
