While the Samsung 970 Evo 500 is anywhere between £91 and £121 the Sabrent 1TB is anywhere between £82 and £109. I deleted the partition completely again in the bios with Asus secure erase. 49. If you have bad airflow in your case then a heatsink won't hurt, but otherwise it's not really needed.

It's a Phison E12 reference design with newer firmware ECFM 12. I got an error message saying " windows cannot be installed on this device the selected disk is of the GPT partition style" then when I tried to change it and clean it in disk partition it would not let me even select the disk itself .

One more positive is that unlike a lot of other NVMe drives this one doesn't really need a heatsink on it since the controller tends to throttle only if you really punish it with writes. Also there is slightly more space as the drive is 2048gb whereas the Cruicial was 2000gb. One thing I did notice is that the "Sabrent Sector Size Converter" doesn't identify the current sector size correctly with these new drives - it always reports 512e.

So no matter what workload I put to it it stays cool and fast which will help my laptop too as it is in an enclosed space with thermal paste. I then ran the CrystalDiskMark utility to check the read and write speeds, and the findings were very impressive, as you can see from the screenshot that I have provided. Once the pricing settles down a bit I will be making my next purchase a 2TB PCIe 4 Sabrent to run as my main drive on my Ryzen 3000. I bought it as upgrade, from the original SSD of my Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2in1 (7306) - with a Toshiba KIOXA BG4 512MB NVMe M.

I really wasn't expecting this kind of performance level on an adapter that connects to the PCI Express x 16 slot. 100% recommended. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a more affordably sized NVMe SSD.

Worth every penny! Performance is consistently great with both drives. I was initially worried about these drives - after the purchase I became aware of a review on amazon.

Si

However, that costs £50 more without any significant performance benefits. Warranty.
