Ben Periton

Installation was a breeze and I am 100% satisfied with the picture quality. (Tried that already. I haven't seen less than full battery on the 312GW's screen yet when running off battery which is a good sign. Doesn't take quite such clear video as the Mini0805, it's a bit bigger too and it was 30 quid more expensive.

Edit: I got sent a replacement holder, and it has so far not melted! Would be nice if it had a wide-screen video mode, rather than bog standard 16:9 (1920x1080) because as it stands, it wastes video bandwidth / SD card space by filming the sky and your dashboard. Cons:- Occasional moments of compression artifacting (pixelated areas in picture) which can reduce detail/quality. Bought this to replace a Mini0805 camera (50 quid off eBay, from China) which packed in after only 7 months use.

The video I link to below shows strong pixelation at times, but that's down to video editing/re-encoding and YouTube's own video processing making it more noticeable than it was staight off the camera. 2. v=Xb8KfME6VvM after youtube .

There is no image stabiliser function (anti-shake). I've read reports of insurance companies rejecting footage for lack of stamped data like time and date etc on the video.

We had a little bit of hot weather for a week, and the mounting has melted! Possibly a dodgy batch? I have uploaded some pictures of day and night driving to see the quality of the camera. - I've not see a single corrupt video file.

Brux

I installed it with separate hard-wire kit and a low-profile mini fuse adaptor and added ferrites just in case to ensure the radio kept working. PS the micro SD card is not supplied but got one locally for a £10. However, during the night, the number plates appear to be white (especially on motorways), and the picture can be grainy. - The mount has a smaller suction cup and nicer design, however it doesn't stick as strongly as the mount that was supplied with the 402G (I actually had to put a few drops of water on the suction cup to make it stick to the glass on the first use).

Mitchell Downes

I 'stealthed out' my camera by sticking PVC tape over all the writing, colouring in the silver ring with a black marker pen and hiding the camera behind the rear-view mirror. 5. Everything works as advertised.
