I have not had any issues with it. Mine closes perfectly on my hair and works great. One pass through and it looked smooth and divine.

It's a styling tool. It DOES NOT take several glides to get a section straight (Mine was set at '45' which confirms my suspicions) Or a lemon? Not that big of a deal because it heats back up in about a minute.
