All in all, this has become one of my new favourite books and I have discovered a new favourite author! ) is all killer and no filler. Janice Hallett is a true innovator in crime fiction.

The plot is an intricate maze of secrets, red herrings, duplexities and double crosses that I challenge anyone to predict. And some people will do anything to prevent the truth from being revealed. Which simply means the use of emails, text messages, newspaper clippings, transcriptions from audio interviews etc.

But she soon discovers discrepancies in the case and finds there is a wall of secrecy that surrounds the baby and it's teenage parents, all three of which have not been seen since that night. I loved Amanda and Elly's exchanges and her acerbic comments on what she was transcribing "[Just tedious small-talk from here on. The truth is something much darker, stranger and more sinister than anyone could ever imagine.

This book is perfect to read when you haven't got huge chunks of time to read. Either: Replace the documents and the box, then throw the key where it will never be found. Ms. But, it's also a book that keeps ticking over in your mind wondering what exactly did happen to the baby?
Emma's Biblio Treasures
I have no idea how she manages to come up with it, let alone how she keeps all those balls in the air and plots the clues perfectly. The mystery is the 'Alperton Angels', a small cult in London, involving angels and an archangel Gabriel Angelis (he changed his name by deed poll), a charismatic and coercive figure, who convinces a young couple (Holly and Jonah) their baby is the antichrist; the angels are found brutally murdered / death by suicide in a warehouse, Gabriel is imprisoned, the baby put up for adoption and Holly and Jonah given new names and identities. So cleanly laid out and tied off.

I even dreamed about it when I slept! It haunted my every thought and I’d be thinking about it even when forced to stop reading to do other things. I am not ashamed to admit that I turned to google to check if this was based on a real case. The girl managed to save her baby, but the Angles sacrificed themselves rather than face trial for their crimes, and the case has been surrounded by whispers of conspiracy and cover-ups ever since.
Another amazing novel from this author, I didn't want to put this down, or finish it, which is the mark of a good book! It seems that everything people think they know about the Alperton Angels is wrong. In The Mysterious Case of The Alperton Angels, we follow Amanda Bailey a true crime author as she tries to write a new novel based on a 18 year old multi murder case, which centres around a cult leader called Gabriel Angelis.
