It will be most effective for lighter paper weights. Great light pad for diamond painting. I expect this issue is common across these boards especially those at a budget price.

I opted for this model of light board as it showed a photo of it being used by photographers to sort slides and negatives. Three brightness settings. Works as expected!

A sheet of A4 paper works and in fact, the white plastic wrapping it comes with, laid over the board is pretty good. For the price I highly recommend it, just don’t use more than 320gsm paper as it wouldn’t be useful for that.

This light pad just about manage to shine through a copy paper sketch so you can trace through the watercolour paper. Can't really go wrong. I may look for an A4 piece of opaque perspex which should be ideal.
